VOLUNTEER:
Beginning with the Spring 2009 season, SBL will now be accepting applications for volunteers online during the registration process. All of the information on the application must be filled out completely to include date of birth and social security number. This information is required for the background check.
BACKGROUND CHECK:
All volunteers for Stafford Baseball League must agree to a background check. This background check includes a search of the sex offender public registries for all fifty states, a criminal history check, and a social security number verification. In addition all volunteers must present a valid government issued identification (such as a driver's license) to prove your identity. People convicted of any kind of sex offenses, or crimes of violence will not be approved to volunteer for SBL. Volunteers may be requested by the board of directors to provide further explanation of other criminal convictions.
CERTIFICATION:
SBL coaches are required to be Babe Ruth Certified. The Babe Ruth League/Ripken Baseball Coaching Certification Program is developed and delivered by the American Sport Education Program in conjunction with Babe Ruth League, Inc. and Ripken Baseball, Inc. Certification can be obtained online at the Babe Ruth League Coaching Education Center, provided by Ripken Baseball.
